But tonight ... I have decided to brush off the cobwebs and start slow ... give you a small update on what has been happening in our lives. A sweet reader, L, commented awhile back "any updates?!?" and so, L ... this is for you!! I have not forgotten you!! (And I hope you're doing well!)
As I type this, the kids are in bed and DH is watching "Design.ated Surv.iv.or" on TV. Everyone has had a fun day and we enjoyed the beautiful weather, driving with the windows down as it was 81 degrees outside! In 2 days, though, I think it is going to be 40 degrees again ... Mother Nature is teasing us!!
In just a few short weeks, Luke is going to be 5. FIVE!! That is so amazingly unreal. It seems not that long ago that we were praying for him to join our family. Luke is a busy and smart a.l.m.o.s.t five year old, loving all things dinosaurs, M.inions, "small Legos" that he can build into cars/things/etc, his ABC's and colors, Thomas the Tr.ain, Mar.io & Teenage Mut.ant Nin.ja Turtles. (Can I say how crazy it is that most of these items *I* grew up with!!?? haha). Luke is in Pre-K4 right now and is really enjoying school. He loves his teacher and his classmates and I think will be excited for Kindergarten in the fall. We are hoping to send him to our local Catholic School - a small miracle in and of itself, as DH was really adverse about that a few years ago. Luke loves going to the Zoo, Children's Museum, Animal Museum, the Park and anywhere he can run around, burn off energy and make friends.
Emma has just turned 14 months old. She had a wonderful first birthday party at the house - loved her cake and her birthday candle. She has been getting lots of pink toys and clothing from her Grammie (DH's mom) as that was what I predicted, in being the only grand daughter on DH's side. Emma is sassy (think "duck face" when she wants to show her sass), into everything (I call her my "busy Bee" as she is always moving and getting into things!) and is a smart little cookie - watching everything we do and always trying to get her hands on our remote controls (they are her MOST favorite thing in the world!). She is DH's daughter for sure - she loves tech and remotes! Ha! She has been walking now for about 5-6 weeks and has really gotten good. We have gates up everywhere!!
I'll try and update every few weeks - but wanted to share the latest pics of our family. It has been almost 5 years since we have had nice photos taken of us ... so we made the most of it! :)
It is such a blessing to have both kiddos in our lives!
